We designed the logos and packaging for Button Family and Button Family Crumpets. This was a fun project with a fun client that covered stationery and factory signage as well. With plenty of time up our sleeves (the crumpet factory wasn't even built yet) we began developing this package long distance - client residing in Saudi - and without a hitch, but with plenty of changes and valuable input from the client, we completed this gem three years later. Oh Yes, we got to sample the goods. The best crumpets in New Zealand. Just our opinion.
Fetch Hockey ~ logos & branding
The Fetch Hockey logo had to appeal to the most discerning and honest critics in the market - young children and teens. What fun. We love this one. Images kindly provided by the coach. Thanks Coach.

The Bicycle Thief
The Bicycle Thief original logo designed in 2005.
Logo design and illustration for the original TBT logo was completed in 2005. This very popular cafe/bar/restaurant was destroyed in the 2011 earth quake.
The good news is, they have reopened in a new location.
We are not responsible for the 2016 remake of the current logo in use. All images here are of the original.

Mi Woollies have been making foot wear and all sorts of cosy items out of sheepskin since the 1930's and in 2002 we were invited to create a logo for them. We were privileged to have the opportunity. A vast variety of goods are developed under the Mi Woollies umbrella, each requiring it's own brand and packaging.
Sub brand "Autofleece" developed for the automotive products. Sheepskin steering wheel cover package pictured.
Timbers of New Zealand
Timbers of New Zealand supply a large range of New Zealand grown and imported timbers to the building industry. With expertise in wood science, forestry and timber processing, they needed a logo that would convey their professionalism and commitment to sustainability and care for the environment.

Our friend Phil at Lucid Commercial Design was designing a literally groovy restaurant module for Westfield Mall, Riccarton. We designed this lively logo to complement the restaurant's ethnicity and it's tongue-in-cheek name.
Wine label name, concept and design.
Our client needed an export label for this lovely Nelson Pinot Noir. With an 'open' brief we developed something from the ground up. Name, story and imagery inspired by the wine's earthy mineral flavour and historical accounts of early Nelson maori trading valuable black lignite rock found in the same hills on which this wine was grown.

Joyride Films is one of New Zealand’s leading players in International Line Production. In 2011 we re-invented their old logo. That year we also created a comic book style promotion for print and web.

Retaining the spirit of the original brand and adding a NZ focus, we took the roller coaster trolley (bottom left - a very nicely detailed rail-bound roller coaster riding a film roll track) off the tracks, gave it wings and rocket engine and had it flying around the islands of New Zealand.
The new logo had to be more flexible for current uses in digital space as well as print. So we made it stylistically less fussy and flattened it into a form that can be used in single or 2 colours. The old logo, being entirely bitmap dependent only worked in 4 colour or grey scale and could only survive a narrow range of reduction or enlargement. The new one has no such restraints. Behold, the new "untethered" Joyride Films logo.
Kurow Estate Wines
concept and design for wine labels, packaging, signage, advertising...
A few label families developed for Kurow Estate - home to Pasquale and various Kurow Village wines pioneering wine making in the Waitaki and Hakataramea valleys and adding a new region to New Zealand's prestigious list. They also produce organic honey so we made a label for that too.
